We all have experiences in life that can literally stop our lives dead in its tracks. Recently I have shared my life experience about my daughter’s death and the response I’ve gotten has been huge with emails and questions about how to move forward in life.
I recorded this video after getting some questions about what I did to recover and move forward.

We all have had experiences in our lives that make it feel impossible to move forward much less live a joyous, complete, full, normal life, a life without limits.
For me after the death of my daughter, to move forward felt so full of grief and dispair that was the last place I was interested in going. The past felt normal, complete, happy, like a family, where I was supposed to be. I did everything I could to try and stay in the past, with the present constantly pulling me forward.
I so badly wanted to feel, “normal” again. The whole world was moving forward while I was kicking and screaming silently, trying to go back. Eventually you realize you’ve lost the battle and slowly you move further and further from the past.
So how do you get to a place that feels normal and joyous again. You’ve got to work your time. Time doesn’t do it on it’s own. We each reach a point at our own speed that finally says “yes I want to laugh again,” even if it’s for only a few seconds.
No matter what your experience has been the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of innocence, our experiences don’t define us but can be the very thing that helps us to know what is truly valuable in life. I began a journey through journaling to help me let go of the grief and guilt.
